The Kia Tigers have decided not to sign a contract with side-arm pitcher Lim Chang-yong next season. "I categorized Lim as a player outside of the league next season and expressed my intention to give up the contract again." said Kia on the 24th. Lim has won 130 games, 86 losses, 19 holds, 258 saves, and an earned run average of 3.45 in the KBO league. This season, he scored an ERA of 5 wins, 5 losses, 4 saves, 4 saves, and 5.42 in 37 games. Lim Chang-yong, who made his professional debut in 1995 after graduating from Gwangju Development High School, played for the Haitai Tigers, Kia`s predecessor, and was traded to the Samsung Lions in 1999. After finishing the 2007 season, he moved to the Yakult Swallows in Japan and played for five seasons. He moved to the Major Leads in 2013 and played in six games as a member of the Chicago Cubs. After returning to Korea after the 2013 season, Lim spent the 2014-2015 season with the Samsung Lions, his team before playing overseas. However, the team was released from Samsung due to the controversy over overseas raw materials and returned to Kia in 17 years. Having recorded the oldest save record in history, he showed a potential to the Nexen Heroes at the Gwangju Kia Champions Field on June 6 and converted to a three-point pitch for the first time in 11 years. Lim Chang-yong, who used to play "snake jikgu" in the mid 140km range, helped Kia advance to the wild card final. Lim Chang-yong is known for his plan to 안전놀이터 continue playing for other teams, but it is uncertain whether the KBO league will take the 43-year-old veteran next season. Previously, Kia released 14 players and did not renew contracts with seven coaches, including Chung Hoe-yeol, Shin Dong-soo, Kim Tae-ryong and Yoo Dong-hoon. He also hired Kang Sang-soo, a coach who did not renew his contract with LG. The 46 coaches, including manager Kim Ki-tae, will hold a 30-day training session in Okinawa, Japan.
